Built for the Trailer Train Company in the 1970s, the BSH22A was produced by Bethlehem Steel Company (BSC) at its Johnstown, PA plant as part of an order for a versatile, all-purpose flatcar.

The Oley Valley Railcar model represents cars rebuilt in the 1980s, equipped with hitches at both ends to accommodate either two 45-foot trailers or three 28-foot trailers on the 89-foot, 4-inch deck. These rebuilt cars carried RTTX reporting marks.
